28th January, Vienna. In the search for missing wines where Maruzio De Simone six unique wines presented from real varietal rarities.
"The almost inexhaustible wine history of Italy is a true El Dorado for ampelographers as Maurizio De Simone. The student of history from grape varieties and hybrids and has acquired in his profession's reputation as an archaeologist, because it would involve the revitalization missing believed lost specialized varieties and expanding these rare grapes to ancient methods De Simone manages and advises wineries in Italy and around the globe. wineries from Argentina, Spain, Croatia, Turkey, Macedonia, the U.S. (California), France and Portugal are on his list of customers.
On 28 January is the celebrity winemaker to Vienna to Arcotel Kaiserwasser and then presents six unique wines. De Simone will report on the philosophy of the wines that are produced in part by ancient recipes, and the history of grape varieties. The following wines are offered for tasting:
first Asprinio Spumante Brut Asprinio Tues Aversa DOC: The white sparkling wine made from 100 percent Asprinio grapes from the winery is "I Borboni" made in Campania. The peculiarity of this wine is its 300-year tradition, which still adhered to and maintained is. The vines are pulled to 20 to 30 feet tall trees. (See picture right)
second Lazio Bianco IGT Lentisco 2006: The white wine made from 100 percent Bellone is produced from the vineyard "Terra delle Ginestre in Lazio near Rome. This wine is aged for eight months in 400-liter chestnut barrels, and that completely on the skins.
third IGT Lazio Fieno Rosé 2008: This rosé wine is from the "Antiche Cantine Migliaccio" on the island of Ponza. The fermentation technology that is applied here, is over 2000 years old. 4th Attis 2005 Cesanese Romano DOC Riserva di Olevano: This red wine is produced in the region of Lazio from 100 percent Cesanese grapes. The "Compagnia di Ermes" the wine can be from 150 year old vines mature in oak barrels for 18 months.
5th Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2004: The red wine classic from Tuscany is made from Sangiovese Grosso, this old vine was almost extinct. At the winery Piombaia Rossi di Montalcino Cantini the wine is aged for three years in oak barrels.
6th IGT Impeto Beneventano Rosso 2005: This red wine is the wine operation "Torre del Pagus in Benevento in Campania, 100 percent Aglianico grapes hergestellt. Ausbau über 24 Monate im Grossen Holz. "(FALSTAFF, Heft 6 / 2009)
